Denmark?
I'm in the lift in my apartment block heading for the 14th floor
when a kid jumps in the lift with me.
"Denmark?"
He points at me
I don't understand so he repeats
"You, Denmark"
"No, No, Irelande, Irelande"
He looks away.
But i feel it is worth repeating,
pointing at my chest i say
"Me, Irelande"
He smiles in recognition,
puts his hand across his chest and says proudly
"Me Palestine"

I have a picture like that of the kids next door to where I was working in a village in Africa. Only I am also in the picture (bad idea) and they are black whereas I am very very very white.

glad you made it safely... I hope that they will keep believing that you are from Ireland... Here in Banja Luka the Danish govt has paid for a bodyguard for our Danish neighbours - obviously unaware that this is a Serbian Orthodox town - not Muslim!!
